Short version: The Scanzo Chrome extension sets no cookies at all. The Scanzo website (scanzo.xyz) uses only Google Analytics 4 cookies for anonymised visitor statistics. No advertising, no tracking across other sites.
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They allow a site to remember information about your visit, such as which pages you viewed or whether you have been to the site before.
The Scanzo Chrome extension does not set any cookies. It stores detected assets temporarily in chrome.storage.session, which is local to your browser and clears automatically when the browser is closed. This storage is never accessible to us.
The Scanzo website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. GA4 places the following first-party cookies:
| Cookie name | Category | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Analytics | 2 years | Distinguishes unique visitors. Contains a randomly generated ID — no personal data. |
| _ga_<ID> | Analytics | 2 years | Persists session state for GA4. The <ID> suffix matches the GA4 Measurement ID for this property. |
| _gid | Analytics | 24 hours | Distinguishes users within a single day. Resets every 24 hours. |
| _gat | Analytics | 1 minute | Rate-limits requests to Google Analytics servers. No tracking value. |
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or any third-party marketing cookies.
We use Google Search Console to monitor how scanzo.xyz appears in Google Search results — search queries, click-through rates, and index coverage. Search Console is a server-side tool: it receives data from Google's index and does not place any cookies on your device.
Google provides an official browser add-on that prevents GA4 from collecting data across all websites you visit: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
You can delete existing cookies and block future cookies in your browser settings. Note that blocking all cookies may affect how some websites function. In Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
GA4 respects the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, GA4 will not track your session on this site.
If we add or remove cookies, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
